The Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship was established in Britain in 1901 with the purpose of fostering closer ties between the different parts of the British Empire. The Durban Branch was founded in 1923 and was involved in various endeavours, its most memorable work being carried out during World War II

MS Scope and Content:
The collection comprises of 17 files. Files 1-10 consist largely of bound volumes of minutes, particularly of Executive Committee meetings, and Files 11 and 12 are bound scrapbooks of newscuttings, with File 12 including newscuttings of work done by the Victoria League in Durban during World War II. Files 13 to 16 consist primarily of correspondence and miscellaneous items, with File 14 containing correspondence written by servicemen to the Victoria League, Durban Branch.
