Allister Mitchell Miller (christened Alexander Mitchell Miller), b.1864, d.1951, came to South Africa in 1887. He worked initially as a journalist and later became one of the first European settlers in Swaziland where he became involved in various pioneering ventures including farming. In 1889 he became Permanent Secretary and Agent to Umbandine, King of Swaziland. He remained in Swaziland for the rest of his life
