MS Historical note:
Father Edwin Kinch, an American Roman Catholic priest, came to South Africa in 1947 and went to Zululand. He founded an order of sisters there and created an arts centre at Hlabisa where he was appointed Catholic Prefect of Ingwavuma. In 1994 he left South Africa to continue his mission work in Manilla, Philippines.

The collection comprises 12 files containing correspondence, scrap books, photographs, newspaper cuttings mainly on Zulu artists such as Ruben Xulu and Bernard Gcwensa. There is also material on Chief Gatsha Buthelezi
