MS Historical note:
Frank Ernest Augustus Cock Foxon, b. 1861, Noordsberg, Natal. In 1880 he joined the Natal public service as a magisterial clerk and interpreter, and later became a magistrate, serving in various parts of Natal during his career. From 1915-22 he was Chief Magistrate at Pietermaritzburg. Foxon served in the Imperial Transport Regiment during the Zulu War, 1879, and as an intelligence agent during the South African War, 1899- 1902. During the Bhambatha Rebellion, 1906, he commanded a squadron of Natal Carbineers, and in World War I, 1914-1918, was responsible for the organization of Natal rifle associations. In 1898 he married Edith Eames and they had 7 children. He died in 1943
