MS Historical note:
James Forbes was a teacher and the founder of the Berea Academy, Durban. He arrived in South Africa in 1875 where he became headmaster of Durban High School. Thereafter, Forbes founded the Berea Academy in October 1878, and stayed at the school until his death in 1910.
